What is LitArchive?
LitArchive is an online publishing platform where writers publish stories chapter by chapter and readers discover, read, and support authors. The platform focuses on fair monetization, creative freedom, and transparent conditions.
Who can use LitArchive?
LitArchive is open to readers and writers aged 14 and older. Users under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Is LitArchive free to use?
Yes. Creating an account and publishing or reading free chapters is free.
Do I need to download an app?
No. LitArchive is web-based and works on desktop and mobile browsers. A mobile app is planned.
For Writers
What can I publish on LitArchive?
You can publish:
- Original stories
- Fanfiction
Original works can be monetized. Fanfiction cannot be monetized through paid chapters.
How does monetization work?
Authors can monetize original works by setting a price per chapter starting from Chapter 20. Revenue from paid chapters is split 50/50 between the author and LitArchive.
Can I receive donations?
Yes. Readers can donate to authors. 100% of donations go directly to the author, excluding payment processing fees.
Do I have to publish exclusively on LitArchive?
Monetized content published on LitArchive must remain exclusive to the platform while it is hosted here. Fanfiction published on LitArchive can be published elsewhere, provided that a link to the LitArchive version is included.
How do payouts work?
Payouts are processed through third-party payment providers. Authors can track earnings and payment history through their dashboard. Minimum payout thresholds may apply.
What tools are available for writers?
LitArchive provides:

Is there a minimum update schedule?
No. Authors publish at their own pace, but we suggest publishing at least one chapter per day.
Can I delete or edit chapters after publishing?
Yes. Authors can edit or remove chapters, except for chapters already purchased by readers.
Can I write in any genre?
Yes. LitArchive does not restrict genres or story formats.
Can I collaborate with other writers or editors?
Yes. Collaborative projects are allowed and supported. LitArchive provides a collaboration tool that lets you give access to another LitArchive account (such as an editor or co-writer), allowing them to edit the same chapter together with you.
For Readers
How can I read stories on LitArchive?
Many chapters are available for free. Paid chapters can be unlocked through coins which you can buy on the platform.
How much does it cost to read paid chapters?
Prices are set by authors.
Can I interact with authors?
Yes. Readers can comment on chapters, participate in discussions, and ask authors questions.
Are purchases refundable?
Digital content purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by law.
Can I support authors without buying chapters?
Yes. Readers can leave comments and make donations.
Can I read offline?
Offline reading is planned for future app versions.
Community & Safety
How does LitArchive moderate content?
LitArchive reviews content based on community guidelines. Content that violates platform rules or applicable laws may be removed.
What happens if someone steals my work?
Authors can report copyright infringement. LitArchive will review claims and take appropriate action, including content removal if necessary.
Is explicit or mature content allowed?
Yes, as long as it is properly tagged and complies with platform rules and local laws.
How do you handle plagiarism?
Reported plagiarism is reviewed, and confirmed violations may result in content removal or account suspension.
Can users be banned?
Yes. Accounts may be restricted or removed for repeated or severe rule violations.
Future Features
Will LitArchive support adaptations into other media?
Yes. The platform is being developed to support future adaptations of popular works into comics, manga, animation, video games, and series.
Will there be writing contests or events?
Yes. LitArchive plans to introduce reading and writing challenges, contests and events connected to literature.
Will LitArchive add comics and webtoons?
Yes. Tools for comics and webtoon publishing are planned.
Will there be achievements or gamification?
Yes. Reading and writing achievements, XP, levels, and rewards are planned.
Will successful stories be adapted into other media?
LitArchive aims to support adaptations into comics, animation, games, and series as the platform grows.
