The Gilmer brothers, two reclusive violin collectors in fog-drenched London, live a life built around refinement, silence, and the controlled beauty of rare instruments they themselves cannot play. Their world is disturbed only by the arrival of Isidore Hyman, a gifted violinist whose performances awaken the instruments’ hidden voices while unsettling the brothers with an unease they cannot fully name.
