The Canterville Ghost

When an American family moves into an ancient English estate, they expect tradition, elegance - and possibly a bit of inconvenience. What they do not expect is a resident ghost determined to uphold centuries of haunting etiquette. Sir Simon de Canterville has terrified generations of occupants, but his carefully rehearsed performances of fear and doom are met not with terror, but with practicality, humor, and modern skepticism. As each haunting attempt fails in increasingly unexpected ways, the ghost finds himself confronted not by fear, but by indifference. Yet beneath the comedy of failed scares, an unexpected transformation begins - one that challenges both the ghost’s legacy and the family’s understanding of compassion. In this witty and touching tale, Oscar Wilde blends satire, supernatural comedy, and emotional depth to explore tradition, redemption, and the clash between old-world fear and modern sensibility.
