Stay!

Ivan Turgenev’s “Stay!” is a lyrical meditation on artistic ecstasy and the fleeting nature of transcendence. The text captures a moment of performance or inspired expression in which a woman, seen through the narrator’s gaze, appears transformed beyond ordinary human existence. In this suspended instant, her gestures, breath, and presence are elevated into something luminous and almost divine.
