Description

In the absurd and self-inflated world of Fum-Fudge, identity is not built on merit, talent, or reason - but on something far more “scientific”: the nose. Robert Jones, a self-proclaimed intellectual genius, discovers early in life that greatness is measured by the prominence of one’s proboscis. Guided by this philosophy, he rises through society not through achievement, but through the systematic worship of his own appearance and the approval of an equally ridiculous elite class obsessed with reputation, fashion, and intellectual posturing. As Jones becomes a celebrated “lion” of society, he moves through salons filled with philosophers, aesthetes, theologians, scientists, and aristocrats who speak in exaggerated jargon while contributing nothing meaningful. In this world, praise is automatic, ideas are ornamental, and identity is performance. But beneath the satire, Poe builds a sharper critique: a society where fame replaces substance, language replaces thought, and absurdity is mistaken for genius.
