Scene: Afternoon – Villa Terrace, the Whole Group Present

The sun is high and golden, casting long shadows across the polished tile of the villa’s terrace. The table is set again, half-cleared from breakfast, pitchers of fruit water sweating in the heat. Everyone is gathered: Nut, Hong, Lego, Diamond, Tui, William, and Est. They’re waiting.

It had been William’s reluctant suggestion to invite Est’s brother and his girlfriend to lunch — to keep things neutral. Civil. Est had quietly agreed, not knowing what storm it would bring.

They arrive together.

Est’s brother walks in like he owns the place. He always does. His girlfriend follows two steps behind, perfectly poised, not a hair out of place. When Est says, "Everyone, this is my brother — and his girlfriend,” her smile flickers toward the group.

And then time slows.

Hong goes rigid.

His glass, lifted halfway to his lips, pauses midair.

The woman turns fully toward them now. That face — those eyes — softened but exact. A familiar tilt to the chin. A breathy, practiced laugh he’s heard in his dreams and nightmares both.

It's her.

His ex.

The girl who broke his heart when he still didn't know what to call the thing inside him. The girl who once kissed him like it meant everything — and then left like it meant nothing at all.

The blood drains from Hong’s face.

“You — ” he croaks.

She freezes. Her smile falters just slightly.

Recognition dawns.

“H-Hong,” she says, awkward, careful. “Wow. I didn’t know you were — here.”

Est’s brother raises an eyebrow, glancing between them with amused curiosity. “Oh?” he asks, casual and sharp. “You two know each other?”

Hong stares at her. “You told me you were moving to London to ‘figure things out.’ That you weren’t ready for a relationship.”

She opens her mouth. Closes it again.

No one speaks.

Then —

A voice from behind Nut’s shoulder, soft and broken:

“…It’s him.”

Tui.

He’s standing a few paces away, frozen in place. His arms are limp at his sides, his face gone pale. His eyes are fixed not on the woman — but on Est’s brother.

Everyone turns to look at him. The silence thickens.

“Who?” Nut asks gently, his brow creased.

Tui’s lips barely move. “That’s him. My boyfriend.”

A pin could drop. No one breathes.

Est stares. “What — ?”

But Tui’s body has already started trembling. He takes a step back. Then another. He stumbles slightly — and before anyone can say a word, he moves behind Nut, like a frightened child looking for cover.

Nut turns instinctively, his body protective. Tui grips his shirt with both fists, hiding behind him like a shadow, eyes wide with panic.

“Tui,” William says, stunned. “Your boyfriend is…?”

Tui nods once. It’s barely a movement. His voice is a whisper. “I didn’t know. I didn’t know he was your brother. I swear. I didn’t know she was with him now, I didn’t know — ”

He sounds like he’s unraveling.

Diamond takes a slow step forward. “Tui… is he…?” He doesn’t finish the question.

But Tui’s silence is enough.

William’s eyes snap toward Est. “Your brother. Your brother is — ”

“What?” Est barks, as if the air’s been knocked from him. “No. That’s not — Tui, what are you saying?”

Tui flinches behind Nut. “He’s not who you think he is.”

Est’s brother only chuckles.

That laugh — it’s small, almost indulgent. Like this is a game to him.

He tugs off his sunglasses and finally addresses the table, like he’s stepping onto a stage.

“Well,” he says, glancing between Tui and Hong. “This is awkward.”

William stands. “You bastard.”

Est rises too, his face pale now. “Tell me this isn’t true.”

His brother raises an eyebrow. “What, that I’m dating your friend’s ex and dating this one?” He motions vaguely toward Tui. “Come on, Est. You’ve always been too soft.”

“I didn’t know he was your brother,” Tui blurts again from behind Nut. “He never told me. He never used his real name. He just — he found me, and he — ”

His voice cracks.

Hong is still staring at the woman, betrayed all over again.

“She knew,” he says softly. “She knew we used to date. And she still came here.”

The girl finally speaks. “I didn’t know you’d be here, Hong. And I didn’t know he was dating someone else. This wasn’t… I didn’t mean — ”

“Stop,” Nut says, voice low but firm. His arm is around Tui now, grounding him. “Just stop.”

Lego and Diamond have both gone still — watching, processing. Lego’s hand is closed tight around Diamond’s wrist.

William rounds on Est. “This is the guy you vouched for. You let him into our space. Into our lives.”

“I didn’t know,” Est chokes. “God, Will — I didn’t know.”

Tui looks like he might fall. Nut doesn’t let him.

Est’s brother just shrugs. “Relationships are messy. You all take things so personally.”

“He hurt him,” Nut says, venom in his voice now. “He hurt Tui.”

Tui doesn’t deny it.

William steps forward. “You need to leave.”

“No,” Est says suddenly, voice shaking. “I’ll tell him.”

He faces his brother now, eye to eye. For once, not smaller. Not younger. Just furious.

“You’re not welcome here. Not after this. Not after any of this.”

His brother looks at him like he’s disappointed. “All this loyalty. You were always so predictable.”

Est shakes his head. “And you were always cruel.”

The brother looks around — at Hong, at Tui, at the wall of people who once might’ve trusted him.

Then he shrugs.

He turns.

“Come on,” he says to his girlfriend.

But she hesitates.

She looks at Hong again, at his eyes full of disbelief.

“Go,” he says, voice low. “You already made your choice.”

She doesn’t argue.

They walk out of the villa.

And when the gate closes behind them, it’s like someone exhales for the first time in minutes.

The silence after is unbearable.

Tui is crying silently now, shaking in Nut’s arms.

William takes Est’s hand. Neither of them speak.

Lego sits slowly, pulling Diamond beside him. Hong doesn’t move. His eyes stay on the empty doorway.

What’s left behind is a group of boys with aching hearts and too many tangled truths.

But they’re together.

And that means something.

Even now.

Scene: Return from Vacation – Early Evening, Back at the Group’s House

The black van pulls into the driveway just as the sky begins to blush with dusk. It’s quiet inside the vehicle — no music playing, no idle chatter. Just the soft hum of tires on asphalt and the occasional shuffle of bags being adjusted on laps.

They’re home. But it doesn’t feel like the kind of return they’re used to.

The villa by the sea is behind them now — days that began with ocean air and ended in firelight. Days that unraveled the truth. And now they carry that truth home like an extra suitcase, heavier than anything they packed.

The first one out is Lego, stretching his arms toward the fading sun. Diamond follows him, blinking into the light. He bumps Lego’s shoulder lightly, and they share a tired smile. Not forced — just quiet.

Inside the van, Tui hesitates.

He’s sitting closest to the door, but doesn’t move. His fingers are laced tightly in his lap, knuckles white. Nut, next to him, gently nudges him with his knee. No pressure. Just letting him know he’s not alone.

Tui swallows, then nods almost imperceptibly. He steps down from the van and glances up at the familiar house. The windows glint back at him like waiting eyes.

William climbs out next, slinging both his and Est’s bags over his shoulders. His jaw is tight, his eyes forward. No one’s quite ready to say anything yet.

Est steps down slowly after him, holding nothing. His hands stay buried in the pockets of his hoodie, as if that might help keep the rest of him in place. He looks pale from the ride, eyes shadowed with something he hasn’t voiced yet.

And then finally, Hong and Nut.

Hong looks better than he did two nights ago — less shaken, more solid. But the flash of his ex’s face still flickers in his mind when he isn’t careful. He catches Nut watching him and gives a small, grateful nod.

They all stand for a moment at the base of the driveway. Boys with different heartaches, different scars, and one house that still holds the rest of their lives.

Lego unlocks the front door. The familiar creak is oddly comforting.

Inside, everything smells like home again — fabric softener, wood, faint traces of cologne and fruit. The air is cooler. Still.

One by one, they scatter.

William drops the bags at the foot of the stairs. “I’ll unpack later,” he mutters.

“I’ll make tea,” Diamond offers quietly. No one protests.

Nut gently tugs Tui toward the couch. “You don’t have to say anything,” he says. “Just sit.”

Tui does, curling into the corner cushion, knees to his chest. He watches the others as if afraid something might break again. But it doesn’t.

Est lingers by the front door.

William turns back to him. “You coming in?”

Est nods slowly, then finally steps inside. But he doesn’t go far. He stays by the wall, like he’s still not sure if he belongs.

“I’m sorry,” he says softly.

Everyone hears him. No one interrupts.

“I didn’t know he was… like that,” Est goes on, voice cracking. “To Tui. To Hong. I didn’t know. And I let him come. I — ”

“Est,” Hong says, sitting on the arm of the couch. His voice is firm, but not cold. “We know. It’s not your fault.”

Est looks at him, startled.

Tui lifts his head. “It’s okay if you didn’t know,” he says. “What matters is you believe us now.”

Est’s shoulders shake once, and William moves to his side, wordless, placing a hand at the small of his back. Est leans into it.

“Tea’s ready,” Diamond says from the kitchen.

They gather around the table again. No fanfare. No posing. Just quiet clinking of mugs and the slow return of breath.

The house is dim now, lit only by the soft lamps and the last glow of sunset filtering through the windows. No one says much, but that’s okay. They don’t need to.

They’re home.

Changed. A little fractured. But still together.

And for now — that’s enough.
