Scene: Evening – The Apartment, Quiet and Golden

The sun is beginning to set, casting the apartment in a soft amber light. It filters through the sheer curtains and pools in corners, brushing over furniture, catching the edges of picture frames and half-folded laundry. The place is unusually still — no music, no voices. Just the hush of a space recently left behind.

Nut walks out of the bathroom with damp hair, a fresh shirt clinging slightly to his collarbone. He pauses in the hallway, frowning gently.

“Where is everyone?”

Hong peeks out from the kitchen, a glass of water in hand. “They’re gone,” he says, voice calm. “Lego texted. They all went out for the night.”

Nut blinks. “All of them?”

Hong nods. There’s a moment of charged silence.

Then Nut chuckles softly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Feels like a setup.”

Hong doesn’t laugh. He steps forward, slowly, placing the glass on the table without taking his eyes off Nut. “Maybe it is.”

The silence now is different. Not awkward — not anymore. Just dense. Full.

They stand there, facing each other. There’s something fragile in the air, something electric. The kind of moment that can shift everything.

Nut moves first, as always — but carefully. He closes the distance like he’s walking through glass, every step slow and hesitant. “Are you okay?” he asks.

Hong nods. His gaze doesn’t waver. “I want to be.”

Nut reaches out, just to brush Hong’s wrist with his fingers. It’s light — but it’s deliberate. Hong closes his eyes for a second, like he’s grounding himself.

And when he opens them, he whispers, “Stay.”

The word lands softly, but it hits hard.

Nut steps closer. Their foreheads almost touch now.

“I’m already here,” he says.

There’s no rush, no sudden frenzy. Everything moves like it’s been waiting for this exact hour.

They kiss — slow, deep, with the kind of quiet hunger that speaks of weeks of holding back. Nut’s hands find Hong’s waist. Hong cups the back of Nut’s neck, steady, like he’s afraid he might float away.

Later, they move through the apartment like it belongs to them alone.

Shirts are tugged off gently, not ripped. Fingers graze skin like pages being turned. Laughter hums between kisses — breathless and disbelieving. Nut traces Hong’s jaw with his thumb like he’s memorizing it. Hong runs his hands through Nut’s hair, whispers his name once, like a prayer.

They end up in Hong’s room, the door left slightly ajar. The room is clean, lived-in — a guitar in the corner, books stacked by the bed, Nut’s sweatshirt thrown carelessly on a chair from earlier in the week.

The bed creaks softly beneath them. Hong leans in first this time, eyes open, mouth warm. Nut breathes against his shoulder, murmurs that he’s here, that he’s not going anywhere. They undress each other with reverence, not haste.

Their bodies find rhythm slowly, the air full of quiet sighs and the occasional whispered name. Fingers laced. Skin flushed. A thousand things said without words.

This isn't about proving anything. It’s not about escape.

It’s about coming home — to each other.

And afterward, when the room is dark and their breathing has evened out, Hong rests his head on Nut’s chest, listening to his heartbeat like it’s music. Nut’s hand is on his back, steady, anchoring him.
