The day stretched on, testing Joon’s patience and skill.

Everywhere Yuna went, Joon shadowed her — at the recording studio, on set, even during brief moments of downtime. He was invisible to most, but Yuna’s world was a storm of eyes and attention, and that made his job harder than any battlefield.

During a lunch break, Yuna slipped away to a small rooftop garden hidden behind the building. Joon hesitated before following, sensing this might be a rare moment of privacy.

She was sitting on a bench, staring at the city skyline, her expression softer than before.

“You don’t have to pretend with me,” Joon said quietly as he approached.

Yuna’s eyes widened, then she sighed. “I’m tired, Joon. Tired of always being perfect for everyone else. Sometimes I just want to be invisible.”

Joon sat beside her, the cool breeze ruffling their hair.

“In the army, I learned that no matter how strong you are, everyone needs someone they can trust,” he said. “Even the strongest people.”

She looked at him then, a small, genuine smile breaking through. “Maybe I was wrong about bodyguards being just shadows.”

Their conversation was interrupted by a sudden shout from below. Security had caught the fan who slipped in earlier. The tension returned like a storm cloud.

Joon stood immediately, but Yuna grabbed his arm.

“Wait.”

She turned to him, her eyes serious and steady.

“I know this isn’t just a job for you.”

Joon’s heart skipped.

“Neither is it for me.”
