Description
Before names settled onto things and before obedience became a habit of the world, all creatures moved untamed through a landscape still learning its own rules. In that early wilderness, companionship is not yet a law, and every bond must be negotiated between hunger, firelight, and fear. When a Woman kindles the first fire in a cave and speaks the first shaping words of domestic life, the wild world begins to fracture into roles - friend, servant, giver, watcher. One by one, animals step into the glow and accept the shape of human need, trading freedom for warmth, food, and safety. Yet among them moves a single presence that refuses every invitation, observing without surrender, circling without belonging. The Cat watches all bargains being made, choosing silence over agreement, distance over comfort, and independence over every promise of care. And even as he eventually enters the warmth of the Cave, something in him remains untouched - a quiet defiance that turns every bond into a conditional truce rather than a submission, leaving him forever between wilderness and home.
