The next morning began with chaos. Jisoo’s agency had scheduled a “surprise” couple reveal at Hana’s café.

It was not a surprise to Jisoo.

But it was very much a surprise to Hana.

“Why are there paparazzi outside?” she demanded, tugging on her apron as Jisoo stepped behind the counter.

“Because,” he said, reaching for a ceramic cup, “we’re the new national obsession.”

Hana swatted his hand away. “You don’t even know how to use that machine.”

“I’m a fast learner.”

“Touch anything and I’m charging you per cup.”

They bickered for five full minutes until the first reporter walked in — camera ready, flashing bulbs already popping. Jisoo smoothly grabbed Hana’s wrist and tugged her into a side hug, grinning like a man deeply in love.

Hana froze.

“Smile,” he whispered through clenched teeth.

She turned and smiled.

It felt like lying.

It was lying.

But the warmth of his hand lingered on her waist longer than necessary.

Later, as they pretended to sip cappuccinos at a reserved table while photographers circled like sharks, Hana whispered, “You’re good at this.”

“I’ve dated the public for seven years,” Jisoo replied, sipping his foam. “You think this is hard?”

Hana leaned in close, for the cameras. “Then let’s make one thing clear. I’m not a fangirl. I’m not going to swoon over your six-pack or your Spotify streams.”

He smirked. “You Googled me.”

“I Googled my paycheck.”

Their eyes met.

For a second, it wasn’t pretend.

Then the flash went off, and the moment vanished.
