Chapter 10
Chapter 10
The Red Notebook β Episode 10: (The Door)
Yuri couldn't sleep.
One sentence kept repeating in her mind.
βAsk your father what he saw when the door opened.β
What had happened at 8:40 PM?
And who had been behind that door?
The next morning, Yuri waited until her father was alone.
βDad.β
He looked up.
βWhat?β
Yuri placed the hotel receipt on the table.
βYou said you met Mrs. Han in Room 214.β
Her father stayed silent.
βWhat happened when the door opened?β
His expression changed.
βYuri, I already told you to leave this alone.β
βYou didn't answer me.β
He looked at the receipt.
For a few seconds, he said nothing.
Then he quietly asked,
βWhere did you get this?β
βYou already know.β
Her father sighed.
βAt 8:40, someone knocked.β
Yuri's eyes widened.
βWho?β
βI don't know.β
βYou opened the door.β
He looked at her.
βYes.β
βWhat did you see?β
Her father hesitated.
βI saw someone standing there.β
βWho?β
βI couldn't see their face.β
Yuri frowned.
βThen how do you know it was connected to the case?β
βBecause they knew about our investigation.β
Yuri's heart began beating faster.
βWhat did they say?β
Her father looked away.
βThey told us to stop.β
βStop what?β
βThe case.β
Yuri stared at him.
βAnd Mrs. Han?β
βShe refused.β
βWhat did you do?β
Her father didn't answer.
βDad?β
βI made a decision that night.β
Yuri waited.
βI decided to leave the case.β
Yuri's expression hardened.
βYou left Mrs. Han alone?β
βI thought it was the only way to protect my family.β
Silence filled the room.
Yuri picked up the receipt.
βBut you never told me any of this.β
βYou didn't need to know.β
Yuri looked at him.
βMaybe I did.β
She turned to leave.
Her phone suddenly buzzed.
Unknown Number.
βHe told you about the door.β
Yuri froze.
Another message appeared.
βBut he didn't tell you what was left behind.β
Yuri slowly turned toward her father.
He was staring at her phone.
And for the first time, Yuri noticed something strange.
He looked scared.
Not of the message.
Of the question she hadn't asked yet.
What was left behind in Room 214?
