The Red Notebook

Once upon a time, there was a big mansion near Dash Street. In this mansion, a teenage girl named Jo-Yuri lived with her parents. She had no siblings, no friends, and not even any cousins—and she didn't need them. Her parents were also busy with their jobs most of the time, and she liked to stay alone. She didn't like crowded places where people were all rushed together. However, her parents loved crowded, busy, and fancy places.

So, when the winter holidays came, they decided to have an awesome trip to Seoul with their daughter, Jo-Yuri.

Mom: “Yuri! Did you come outside the room? We have some very good news for you, so be quick!”

Yuri: “Oh, reallyyyyyyy, Mom? ”

After Yuri came outside the room, she asked:

Yuri: “Mom, tell me what the news is. I can't bear the suspense!”

Mom: “Ohh, dear, you look very happy, but be patient.”

Yuri: “Mom, I said I can't bear suspense at all!”

Dad: “Okayyyyy, dear, okay. So, the news is that we're going on a trip to Seoul next Sunday!”

But suddenly, the happiness disappeared from Yuri's face.

Yuri: “Seoul? Absolutely not. I'm not going.”

Mom: “Yuri, please. We really want you to come.”

Yuri: “Well, I don't. You can go without me.”

Dad: “No, Yuri. You have to come.”

Yuri crossed her arms. “Why are you both making such a big deal about it?”

Her parents went silent.

Mom looked at Yuri and said softly, “Yuri, just come with us. We promise you won't regret it.”

Yuri narrowed her eyes. “That's exactly what people say before something goes wrong.” 👀
