Chapter 2 — (The Surprise)
3:20 p.m. — Haneul High School
The final bell rang.
Miho instantly grabbed Me-yongi's hand.
“Come on, cutie. We're leaving.”
Me-yongi blinked.
“Where?”
Miho gave her a playful smile.
“Somewhere fun. Don't ask questions.”
Han-seok walked behind them, hands in his pockets.
“She's definitely planning something stupid.”
Miho turned around.
“Excuse me?”
“I said what I said.”
Miho narrowed her eyes.
“You're lucky you're handsome.”
Han-seok smirked.
“Jealous?”
“Of you? Never.”
Soo-ah laughed.
“You two are impossible.”
Seo-jun calmly picked up his bag.
“Can we go before they start flirting through insults again?”
Me-yongi giggled.
“Please.”
Miho immediately linked her arm with Me-yongi's.
“Don't listen to them, cutie. You're coming with me.”
Me-yongi smiled.
“Always.”
Han-seok raised an eyebrow.
“Wow. She's completely under your control.”
Miho smirked.
“She likes me more than you.”
“Everyone likes you more than me.”
“Exactly.”
Han-seok laughed under his breath.
“Baddie.”
Miho winked.
“You know it.”
A few minutes later, the five friends reached a large amusement park near the river.
Me-yongi's eyes widened.
“Whoa!”
Miho proudly spread her arms.
“Surprise!”
Soo-ah looked around excitedly.
“You actually planned this?”
Miho smiled.
“Obviously. I'm intelligent, remember?”
Han-seok scoffed.
“Debatable.”
Miho turned toward him.
“Say that again.”
Han-seok stepped closer with a teasing grin.
“Debatable.”
Miho smiled sweetly.
“Fine. You're paying for everyone's food.”
His smile disappeared.
“That's cheating.”
Everyone laughed.
They spent the afternoon running from one ride to another.
Soo-ah dragged everyone toward the games.
“I'm winning that giant teddy bear.”
Seo-jun looked at the game.
“You've already lost three times.”
“I'm warming up.”
Han-seok smirked.
“That's what losers say.”
Soo-ah pointed at him.
“Then you do it!”
Han-seok stepped forward.
“Move.”
He picked up the ball, threw it once—
THUD.
The target fell.
Soo-ah stared at him.
“No way.”
Han-seok casually took the teddy bear.
“Anything else?”
Soo-ah grabbed it.
“Okay… that was actually cool.”
Han-seok smirked.
“I know.”
Miho rolled her eyes.
“Someone's ego just got bigger.”
Me-yongi laughed.
Seo-jun shook his head.
“You two never stop.”
Later, Miho pointed toward the biggest roller coaster.
“That's next.”
Me-yongi's eyes widened.
“Really?”
Miho smiled.
“Scared, cutie?”
Me-yongi shook her head quickly.
“No!”
Han-seok laughed.
“She's definitely scared.”
Me-yongi looked at him.
“I am not!”
Han-seok leaned closer with a mischievous grin.
“Then prove it.”
Me-yongi crossed her arms.
“Fine!”
Miho immediately smiled.
“That's my girl.”
Seo-jun sighed.
“You're all insane.”
Soo-ah grabbed his arm.
“Come on, smart guy. You're coming too.”
“I knew this would happen.”
When the ride finally started, everyone screamed.
Except Seo-jun.
He sat completely calm.
Han-seok glanced at him.
“Seriously?”
Seo-jun looked over.
“What?”
“You're not scared?”
“No.”
Han-seok smirked.
“Okay, smart guy.”
Meanwhile, Me-yongi was holding Miho's hand tightly.
Miho laughed.
“Still brave, cutie?”
Me-yongi nodded nervously.
“For you? Always.”
Miho's teasing smile softened.
“That's why you're my favorite.”
Me-yongi smiled.
“I know.”
The ride came to an end.
Everyone stepped off, dizzy and laughing.
Soo-ah immediately announced,
“Best day ever!”
Han-seok fixed his hair and smirked.
“Obviously.”
Miho laughed.
“Your hair survived. Congratulations.”
Han-seok looked at her.
“Worried about me?”
“Dream on.”
Seo-jun smiled quietly.
“You guys really are something.”
Me-yongi looked at all four of them.
For a moment, everything felt perfect.
Five friends.
One unforgettable day.
And not a single one of them knew how much their lives were about to change.
To be continued…
